Primed for success beyond the gates of St. Anne, the St. Anne Junior High programs prepares students for academic success in high school, while encouraging students to navigate the social and emotional challenges of adolescence. In Junior High, your student learns to hold his/herself to high academic standards, demonstrate critical thinkinking in all subjects, and create, collaborate, and communicate. Students are challenged to be their own advocate in the classroom and among their peers. With a continued emphasis on building Catholic character through authentic experiences, St. Anne Junior High teachers help students enrich their faith and promote goodness, discipline, and knowledge.
A typical St. Anne day involves hands-on, experiential learning in the science lab and integrated technology in the Makerspace, roundtable discussions on Romeo and Juliet, and serving as lectors and Ambassadors during an all school Mass. Students become proficient guitar players in the music elective and experiment with assemblage during Art. The core curriculum, combined with the ancillary enrichment classes, allows students to grow as individuals of Christ within a community faith. St. Anne Junior High students leave St. Anne with a true sense of fellowship and belonging.
Students in Junior High have nine class periods per day. Each class is taught by a teacher who has a specialty in the field they teach. All students take courses in English, Literature, History, Theology, Math, Science, and Foreign Language (Spanish) four to five times per week. Additionally, Junior High students take Physical Education classes and Fine Arts electives. Students are technology-proficient by graduation, with a 1:1 Chrome book program that begins in the 5th grade. In the MakerSpace, students are versed in TinkerCad, Scratch Programming, 3D printing, and the Dremel saws.
